Privacy statement
Sven Van Laere, trading as Laerix, is responsible for processing your personal data through this website. Laerix processes that data in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What data and why
- Contact form and email. Your name, email address, company name if you give one, and your message, to answer your question and make a proposal. This happens at your request, before a possible agreement.
- Clients. Contact and billing details, to carry out the agreement and to meet legal obligations such as bookkeeping.
- Website visits. Technical data such as your IP address and browser type, which the hosting partner needs to show and protect the website.
How long
- Requests that don't lead to a project: at most 1 year.
- Client data: as long as we work together. Invoices and other accounting documents as long as the law requires, currently 7 years.
- Technical data at the hosting partner: a few days.
Who with
Laerix never sells or rents out your data. It's only shared with service providers needed to make the website and the services work:
- Web3Forms processes and sends the messages from the contact form
- OVHcloud hosts the mailbox where those messages and other emails arrive
- Cloudflare hosts and protects the website
Some of these providers may also process data outside the European Economic Area. That only happens with the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Cookies
This website uses no tracking or advertising cookies. If you choose a light or dark theme with the button in the menu bar, that choice is only stored in your own browser, so the website remembers it on your next visit.
The map on the contact page only loads when you click “Show map”. It comes from OpenStreetMap, which means your IP address and browser details are sent to the OpenStreetMap Foundation.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- see your data and ask for a copy
- have incorrect data corrected
- have your data deleted
- restrict or object to the processing
- receive your data in a common format to transfer it
Send your request to info@laerix.be. You'll get an answer within a month. If you're not happy with how Laerix handles your data, you can file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels.
